本次LPN Cruciform 学术沙龙,我们邀请到了伦敦大学学院的米志付博士主讲,介绍了近年来中国碳排放的主要影响因素和变化趋势。

近年来,中国逐步进入经济“新常态”阶段,在经济增速下降的同时,面临着能源、环境与气候变化等重大问题的挑战。在国家一系列系统性改革措施促进下,中国社会经济发展模式正逐步转变,而碳排放和经济发展密切相关。在此背景下,米博士和他的团队深入研究了在新的经济发展模式下,中国碳排放模式的变化。米博士利用结构分解分析(SDA)和环境投入产出分析来估计2005-2012年中国碳排放变化的决定因素。通过编制了中国30个省份的多区域投入产出表,并将其与全球多区域投入产出模型相关联,米博士描述了中国30个省份与世界139个国家或区域的贸易关系。其研究结果表明,在中国进入到“新常态”后,中国碳排放的驱动因素发生了很大的变化,抑制碳排放的最强有力的贡献因素已经从效率提升转变为包括消费升级和生产升级因素在内的结构升级因素所取代。

讲座之后,参会人员与嘉宾进行了热烈的跨学科交流和探讨。本次沙龙由伦敦大学学院李会良博士和陈焕发博士组织。

 

 

 

【主讲嘉宾介绍】

米志付博士,现为英国伦敦大学学院讲师,SCI期刊Journal of Cleaner Production副主编,SSCI期刊Structural Change and Economic Dynamics副主编。在Science Advances、Nature Geoscience、Nature Communications等期刊发表SCI/SSCI论文50余篇。入选福布斯“30 under 30”精英榜,荣获2018年世界可持续发展奖,2017年中国经济学优秀博士论文奖,2017年中国百篇最具影响国际学术论文,Applied Energy 2016年高被引原创论文奖,Environmental Research Letters 2017年最佳青年学者论文奖。


【Event Report】LPN Cruciform Academic Seminar – China’s Carbon Emissions under the New Economic Normal

In this LPN Cruciform Academic Salon, we invited Dr. Mi Zhifu from University College London to give a lecture, introducing the main influencing factors and changing trends of China’s carbon emissions in recent years.

In recent years, China has gradually entered the stage of economic “new normal”. While the economic growth rate is declining, it is facing challenges from major issues such as energy, environment and climate change. With the promotion of a series of systematic reform measures by the country, China’s social and economic development model is gradually changing, and carbon emissions are closely related to economic development. In this context, Dr. Mi and his team conducted an in-depth study of the changes in China’s carbon emission patterns under the new economic development model. Dr. Mi used Structural Decomposition Analysis (SDA) and Environmental Input-Output Analysis to estimate the determinants of China’s carbon emissions changes from 2005 to 2012. By compiling a multi-regional input-output table of China’s 30 provinces and correlating it with a global multi-regional input-output model, Dr. Mi described the trade relations between China’s 30 provinces and 139 countries or regions in the world. The results of its research show that after China entered the “new normal”, the driving factors of China’s carbon emissions have changed a lot, and the most powerful contributing factors to suppress carbon emissions have changed from efficiency improvement to including consumption upgrades and production upgrades. replaced by structural upgrading factors including factors.

【Introduction to the guest speaker】

Dr. Zhifu Mi  is currently a lecturer at University College London, UK, associate editor of the SCI journal Journal of Cleaner Production, and associate editor of the SSCI journal Structural Change and Economic Dynamics. He has published more than 50 SCI/SSCI papers in journals such as Science Advances, Nature Geoscience, and Nature Communications. Included in Forbes’ “30 under 30” elite list, won the 2018 World Sustainable Development Award, the 2017 China Economics Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, the 2017 China’s 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers, and the 2016 Highly Cited Original Paper by Applied Energy Award, Environmental Research Letters 2017 Best Young Scholar Paper Award.
